Parish Pastoral Council & Committees
The Parish Pastor Council in the parish consists of two groups. The regular Pastoral Council meets monthly and responds to short-term pastoral needs of the community, the care and maintenance of properties and buildings and to financial matters brought forward from the Finance Council.
The regular Pastoral Council recognized the need to look at long range pastoral planning for Holy Family Parish as a result of a Pastoral Council workshop sponsored by the Archdiocese of Halifax. Another group formed to look at long term pastoral planning for the parish. They conducted a consultation process with parishioners over a period of time that gathered valuable information about the nature and life of our parish.
Over time this group merged with the effort of the parish Stewardship Committee to form the Holy Family Stewardship Council. This council meets regularly to promote Stewardship as a Lifestyle in the parish and also to discern and develop a pastoral plan for Holy Family Parish over the next 3, 5, 7 years.
News about Stewardship as a Lifestyle is found in another part of this website. The Stewardship Council meets with the regular Pastoral Council at intervals throughout the year. Both councils are consultative bodies that meet regularly throughout the year.
