~The Closing of a Campaign…the End of Church Year~
This Sunday, along with the rest of the Church of Halifax, we will be officially closing the Annual Diocesan Financial Appeal. There will be a second collection at all Masses this weekend but, of course, contributions can be made at any time. “Our church has a Future” is the theme for this year and certainly, if you look on the north side of our own church building, we in this parish have a bright future to look forward to and prepare. Liturgically speaking, this Sunday marks the end of our year and what a year it has been with life in our many parish organizations that we have not experienced for some time. This augurs well for the coming year when we will be moving through a once in a lifetime transition. May we continue to be blessed by God and KEEP UP THE GOOD
~ADVENT WREATH MAKING & POTLUCK~
The Parish Life Committee is planning a family Advent Wreath making and potluck supper next Sunday, November 29th from 3:00 to 6:00pm in the Church Hall. The Advent Wreath is the traditional symbol of preparing for the Lord’s coming at Christmas. Materials and guidance will be provided for making your wreath and a free-will offering will be taken to offset costs. Bring your favourite recipe to share with others at the potluck supper. If you participated in this event two years ago and still have your plywood form for your wreath, please bring it to the Church to help reduce costs. Mark this date on your calendar.
~STEWARDSHIP FOCUS~
We want to thank parishioners for participating in our ministries fair and commitment weekend. We also express appreciation to our various committees and organizations for their involvement. With the advent of our new church complex taking shape, we look forward to our parish building on its strengths and sharing the gifts that arise from those strengths with one another. We p;ray for God’s continued blessing on our efforts to choose Stewardship as the principle way to live faith.

~CHRISTMAS CHEER BOXES~
We are collecting food items for the 90+ cheer boxes in preparation for the distribution of Christmas boxes for those in need. Over several weeks we will be asking for specific food items on a particular weekend. There is a schedule of the foods required to fill each box attached to this week's bulletin. For people who choose to make a donation rather than bringing food each week, please consider the following: 1) Cost of a box including the turkey-$95.00. 2) Cost of turkey-$20.00. Parishioners who choose to donate the cost of a box or a turkey would receive a charitable tax receipt. We ask that you place this schedule on your refrigerator for future reference.
