To maintain our high quality of liturgical celebrations here in Holy Family and to show respect for the Word, the Eucharist and our people, those scheduled for the Ministry of Word or Eucharist in the Lord’s Day celebration of Eucharist will be reminded by phone each week of their scheduled time. We hope this will help in the preparation for and celebration of our liturgies.

~M&M (MUSIC & MINISTRY) YOUTH CHOIR~

The youth of our Parish have begun another year of joyful song. We are growing and we want you to join with us. We are the music for the Family Mass on the last 11:15 Sunday Eucharist each month. Our practice in the church is the 1st and 3rd Sunday nights of each month from 6:00 to 7:00. Bring your voice, or an instrument or just your love of sharing music and join us. We will be also hosting our fabulous and famous Pizza and Garlic Finger nights again. Our Games night was such a huge success last year that we will be doing it again. So keep posted in this spot for the dates. Contact Glenna or Sean O'Quinn at 660-3450.

~LIFT UP EVERY VOICE AND SING~

Last weekend the choirs once again raised their voices in song and are looking for people who love to share the gift of music to praise the Lord. Giving special attention to the 4:30 Choir, they practice every Tuesday evening at 7:00 in the church and would love to have anyone who is interested to come along and join them. New members are most welcomed. If interested and cannot make the practice just see them after mass.

~RELIGIOUS EDUCATION ANNOUNCEMENTS~

~CHILDREN'S LITURGY LEADERS~

We have an active Children's Liturgy program that usually begins after the Thanksgiving weekend. We are in need of some leaders for this ministry of proclaiming God's Word with our young parishioners; please call Deacon Howard at 667-2523.

~ALTAR SERVERS~

Server schedules are available at the back of the Church. Anyone wanting to be an altar server at Holy Family, please contact Mrs. Cathy Gamblin at 660-2942. Training for new servers will begin shortly.

~RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION~

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process by which people discern becoming members of Church. We meet weekly beginning late September – early October until Easter. Participation in the RCIA is a process of learning the Catholic faith and tradition without the obligation to become a full member of Church. If you want to “Come and See”, please call Sister Teresa Currie 667-5611 or Deacon Howard 667-2523.

~VOTIVE CANDLES~

We often light a votive light as a prayerful reminder of someone or for a special intention. It is a practice that is centuries old.. The 50 cent offering at Holy Family supports youth activities in the Parish and purchases votive candles for the stand. Funds were used to assist our young people who attended the Steubenville weekend this past summer. Please continue to support our youth in this manner.

ATTENTION ENVELOPE USERS

Could the parishioners who are using envelope numbers 4063 and 4159 please write their name and address on their envelopes. We need to know who is using these envelope numbers so we can issue a donation receipt. Thank you.

FUN'D BUILDING
Thanks to all who submitted Fun'd Building suggestions! Keep them coming. Here is one of them now.
Good used unbroken jewelry is being sought for an upcoming sale. Please place your donation in an envelope or small box to keep it together. Then simply drop it off in the box marked Jewelry at the back of the church. For further information contact Dana at 667-0307 or Denise at 660-2547.

~STEWARDSHIP CORNER~

St. James warns in today's second reading that those who hoard their wealth and live only for themselves will be condemned. What we accumulate in terms of wealth is to be shared in an intentional and proportionate manner. All wealth, large or small, is a gift from God. Sharing it abundantly will be rewarded with abundance.

~PUBLIC WORKSHOP~

A Public Workshop (Downtown Amherst Action Strategy), hosted by Ekistics Planning and Design with Colliers International, will take place Tuesday, October 6th at 7:00pm, upstairs at the Amherst Fire Hall.
