~RECONCILIATION SERVICE WEDNESDAY~
We continue our parish “pathway to the cross” and are invited to gather at the church Wednesday evening at 7:00 for a Lenten Penitential or Reconciliation Service. The theme we have chosen for this service is “Ambassadors for Christ”. Our 9:00 choir will be leading us in song and, until then, we are all urged to pray God's forgiving grace on our Parish.
~DEVELOPMENT & PEACE SOLIDARITY SUNDAY ~
The Fifth Sunday of Lent in Canada is observed as “Solidarity Sunday” with emphasis on our personal contribution to Development and Peace this year. We are fully aware of our blessings in this land in light of the natural disasters recently in Chile and Haiti and should gauge our contribution accordingly.
~PALMS BLESSED AND PROCESSION~
Next Sunday the Palms will be distributed, blessed and processed around the church at all of the Masses and the Passion solemnly proclaimed. It will be the beginning of the last Holy Week at St. Charles.
~MANY THANKS~
Thank you to the Catholic Women's League for their generous donation of $956.00 to the Parish from the proceeds of their pancake supper.
~TRANSITION COMMITTEE~
- From 2:00 to 4:00pm on Sunday March 28th, parishioners and families are welcome to come and view the new facility. There will be an opportunity to write names and leave messages on wood partitions in the hall area. Coffee, tea and sweetbreads will be available in the Church Hall compliments of the Parish Life Committee. We hope to see many parishioners there to look over the new church complex.
- The committee will be developing a time capsule for the new church. They are looking for donations of artifacts from our founding parishes of St. Charles Borromeo and Nativity of Our Lady. A receptacle will be placed at the church entrance to receive items beginning after Easter. You might consider photos, rosaries, small crosses or newspaper items that might be included in the time capsule.
- The committee is also looking for people interested in scrapbooking. These people would assemble photos, articles and clippings of the history of our founding parishes. Please call Frank Allen 545-2886 or Celina White 667-1222 for more information or if you would like to be a participant in this newly formed committee.
~ADULT FAITH FORMATION~
Peter Hoar from Parrsboro has been conducting monthly Adult Faith Formation sessions at West Highlands School at 10:00am. He will be present on Sunday, March 28th to lead a discussion on “A reconciling life: what the Church really says about the sacrament.” He will begin at 10:00am until 11:00 in the C h u r c h H a l l. All interested parishioners are invited to attend.
~STATIONS OF THE CROSS~
The Stations of the Cross next Friday evening at 6:30 will be led by members of the Catholic Women's League. This Lenten devotional prayer will focus on attributes Mary, His mother, would bring to the Passion of the Lord. All are welcome.

Our youth group is meeting on Tuesday evenings in the Church Hall beginning at 7:15. They are planning to observe the Lenten Thinkfast on Saturday, March 27th from 2:00 to 7:00pm in the Church Hall. Thinkfast is an opportunity for young people to reflect in issues of social justice and the gospel call to assist people in other lands. Their efforts will support the annual Development & Peace campaign. The Lenten Thinkfast is open to young parishioners from Level 7 and up. They are invited to “fast” from early morning until the event concludes with a meal together that evening. Liquids will be provided throughout the day for nutrition.
